Archives
Overview
The IGPP archives dealing primarily with the Institute's early history (the so-called "Eichhalde period"). It comprises documents and materials concerning the IGPP since its founding in 1950 until its move into the new Wilhelmstraße location in 1996. Among the more important materials are:- General and scientific correspondence;
- Documents relating to early IGPP research projects (e.g., mental healing; so-called seat experiments with Gerard Croiset; precognitive dreams; psychokinetic metal-bending);
- Collections of spontaneous paranormal reports, including poltergeist and apparitions cases;
- Archives of the "Zeitschrift für Parapsychologie und Grenzgebiete der Psychologie" (1957 onwards) and the journal "Neue Wissenschaft" (1960-1968);
- Archives of press clippings;
- Collections of reprints;
- Audiovisual archives (pictures, slides, films, videos, tapes).
- Original photo plates and protocols dealing with mediumistic experiments performed by Albert v. Schrenck-Notzing (1862-1929), a Munich physician and hypnotherapist, author of "Materialisationsphänomene" (1914, 1923);
- Original photo plates of Louis Darget (1847-1921), a French pioneer of Thought Photography;
- Personal papers of Albert Hellwig (1880-1951), a criminologist and author of "Okkultismus und Verbrechen" (1921);
- Personal papers of Fanny Moser (1872-1953), a biologist and author of "Okkultismus" (1935) and "Spuk" (1950);
- Personal papers of IGPP founder Hans Bender (1907-1991), a physician and psychologist and the most prominent representative of German post-war parapsychology.
