[Hans Bender and the Institute for Psychology and Clinical Psychology at the "Reichsuniversität Straßburg"]
|
The beginnings of Hans
Benders career in Bonn, Freiburg and Strasbourg coincided with
the rise of National Socialism. After he had habilitated in 1941 with
his work
“Experimental Visions” at Erich Rothacker in Bonn,
he became associate professor for
general and clinical psychology at the newly established
Reichsuniversität
Strassburg due to his psychological and medical double qualification.
With the
help of so far unknown archive materials from Berlin,
Bonn, Colmar,
Freiburg, Koblenz, Marbach, München, Nürnberg,
Stuttgart and Tübingen
this study traces Benders career very closely, until the end of the
Reichsuniversität Straßbußburg in November
1944. A CD-ROM with over 70 images
of documents, persons and public, a résumé in
French, a comprehensive bibliography,
several registers and the first edition of Bender’s article
in the commemorative
publication of 1983 contributed to Rothacker carrying the title
“Der
Bewusstseins- und Erlebnisbegriff bei Klages und seine Brauchbarkeit
für den Aufbau
einer Halluzinationstheorie” (Klage’s concept of
consciousness and experience
and its usefulness for constructing a theory of hallucination) ,
completes the
publication. |
